The Young Adult lit world first met David Yoon through his stunning illustrations in Nicola Yoon’s New York Times bestseller, Everything, Everything. His minimalist art added depth to the beautiful story, and the images even made an appearance in the wonderful movie adaptation.

And now, David Yoon has a novel of his own coming out.

On the fast track to become a movie and sold into over a dozen languages, Frankly in Love promises to make a big splash when it hits bookstores everywhere later this fall. Intrigued? Here’s the scoop from the publisher:

High school senior Frank Li is a Limbo—his term for Korean-American kids who find themselves caught between their parents’ traditional expectations and their own Southern California upbringing. His parents have one rule when it comes to romance—”Date Korean”—which proves complicated when Frank falls for Brit Means, who is smart, beautiful—and white.

Fellow Limbo Joy Song is in a similar predicament, and so they make a pact: they’ll pretend to date each other in order to gain their freedom. Frank thinks it’s the perfect plan, but in the end, Frank and Joy’s fake-dating maneuver leaves him wondering if he ever really understood love—or himself—at all.

G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers will release Frankly in Love on September 10th, and we’re thrilled to exclusively reveal the cover today.

“Owen Gildersleeve has created a cover that authors only dream of,” Yoon tells Paste. “As a former designer myself, I am seriously blown away by the meticulous detail involved in hand-cutting, mounting and lighting layers upon layers of paper to craft such gorgeous typography. The piece has a depth and textural feel that a digital design just wouldn’t have. I just hope my book can live up to its jacket!”

We can’t wait to read this one, but for now, we’ll enjoy viewing its gorgeous cover:
