Shane Torres’ debut record is coming out on Sept. 8 on Comedy Central Records, and for a taste of what Established 1981 promises, Torres has shared an advance track from the album. “A Man Named Fieri Filled With Fury” finds the comic hilariously defending the much-maligned celebrity chef Guy Fieri.
Torres digs into all the great things Fieri has done while his counterpart, Anthony Bourdain, “looks like a guy who would be mean to dogs.” Sure, ”[Fieri] looks like a Hot Topic manager moonlighting at a Friday’s,” but he’s done a lot of great stuff.
It’s a funny bit and hopefully indicative of the quality of the entire album. Check out the track below, and watch Torres do stand-up in the Paste Studio further down. The comic also has a half-hour Comedy Central special on the way later this fall.
