10 Beers To Get You in The Mood For Summer

Drink Galleries

The weather is getting warmer, and Memorial Day is almost here, which means it’s time for summer beers.

While you can certainly drink stouts in the summer (I definitely will), warmer weather tends to lend itself to drinks that are a little fruitier, a little lighter, and a little lower in ABV than what you might sip on during colder months.

Not sure what brew to pack in your picnic basket this weekend? Here are a few suggestions.

1 of 10 I've written a few times about my love for Anderson Valley Briny Melon Gose. The lightly-salted beer is the perfect thing for a hot summer day, and is low enough in alcohol that you can have a few in the afternoon and make it to evening festivities as well.

2 of 10 You can tell by the name that this IPA from Founders is one you can sip on all day long.

3 of 10 10 Barrel's Raspberry Crush is a sour that's literally crushable. The Berliner Weisse clocks in at 6.5%, making it a big stronger than other brews on this list. The raspberry flavor; however, makes it the perfect drink for a sunny day on the beach.

4 of 10 At just 4%, Bell's Oarsman is a delicious low-ABV brew.

5 of 10 Clocking in at just 2.7%, the volume of liquid you're consuming would probably bother you before the alcohol would in this one.

6 of 10 At 4.5% Dogfish Head's Festina Peche is a refreshing peach Berliner Weisse perfect for pool and picnic drinking.

7 of 10 Green Flash's Citra Session Ale is made with 100% Citra hops.

8 of 10 In Spanish, Otra Vez means "again." This cactus gose is one you're going to want to reach for again and again.

9 of 10 Never underestimate the summer drinking power of a great radler. This radler by Owl's Brew is part tea, and 100% delicious.

10 of 10 Sixpoint's tangy and salty gose is exactly what you want by your side on the beach this summer.
