Bryan Cranston is unhappy with his seemingly perfect life in the quietly poignant trailer for Robin Swicord’s Wakefield. “Suburban life. So much is the same. Week after week. Who hasn’t had the impulse to put their life on hold for a moment? Just vanish completely,” Cranston narrates, as the story unfolds about Howard Wakefield and the fallout from his nervous breakdown.
At first, it seems to start out as a fun little one-sided game of hide-and-seek, but it quickly goes downhill. His family quickly decides that he’s gone missing, and acts accordingly. While hiding out in an attic, Wakefield witnesses the grieving process as his family mourns his disappearance and then begins to move on. And then comes the beard, along with the homeless look. What will it take for Howard Wakefield to find happiness?
