Robert Ellis is a country rock guitarist hailing from Houston, Texas. Although his main genre is Americana, he also has influences of pop and jazz music in his sound. He is currently gearing up to release his new, self-titled album, available June 3. In addition to the new album; he is going on the road to tour with alt-country/punk troubadours Deer Tick. In the past, he has also toured with Americana all-stars such as The Alabama Shakes, Old Crow Medicine Show and the Old 97’s. With his peaceful and heartwarming essence, we knew he would be a perfect fit for one our studio sessions.
Robert Ellis’ latest album entitled The Lights From The Chemical Plant has an ethereal sound, while focusing on topics from favorite TV shows to going on tour. The LP even earned him a few awards nominations from the Americana Music Association. The album combines humor with more poignant tales and is a great way to get introduced to Ellis’ music. His songs stretch from two-minute fillers to seven-minute epics, and every piece of music he writes is personal and straight from the heart.
