Brian Fallon is best known as the frontman for folk-punk/heartland rock group The Gaslight Anthem. Currently on hiatus following a length 2015 jaunt, The Gaslight Anthem is considered by many to be one of the contemporaries of artists such as Frank Turner. In addition to The Gaslight Anthem, he has had many other side projects. These include bands such as the blues rock act The Horrible Crowes and the Americana/folk outfit Molly & The Zombies. In 2011, The Horrible Crowes released their first full length album entitled Elsie. In addition, Brian released an album with This Charming Man called Every Little Secret, which came out in 2005.
Despite being on hiatus from Gaslight, Brian Fallon shows no signs of slowing down, as he gets prepared to release his first solo album. On this new record, Painkillers, Brian Fallon croons like a 2010s version of New Jersey hero Bruce Springsteen for a crash course in Americana rock and a punk-esque take on heartland rock. His distinctive sound is straight out of the boardwalks of New Jersey.
Brian Fallon stopped by Paste Studios recently and recorded a session. The three songs he recorded, “Steve McQueen,” “A Wonderful Life,” and “Rosemary” are all special in their own right. Check out the session here.
